Joel Campbell is on his way out of Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, with his departure from the Costa Rican giants now considered imminent. As reported by Bolavip, the club is exploring a mutual contract termination or a possible loan, with his $40,000 monthly salary proving unsustainable.

Amid this uncertainty, Club Sport Herediano has emerged as a serious contender for the forward’s signature. Sporting director Jafet Soto is reportedly keen on signing Campbell, viewing the move as both a strategic reinforcement and a bold statement to rivals.

Soto believes Herediano can help Campbell rediscover his best form and make a major impact in the domestic league. However, the player’s salary is a major stumbling block—it’s said to be triple the amount of the club’s current highest earner.
