João Félix’s loan move: player requested Chelsea exit
João Félix joined Chelsea in the summer of 2024 but left the London club in the winter transfer window to join AC Milan. Now, details have emerged regarding who made the decision.
Details: Insider Fabrizio Romano has reported that Félix moved to Milan on loan primarily because he personally requested Chelsea to let him go. The Portuguese forward will spend the remainder of the season with the Rossoneri on a loan deal that does not include a purchase option.
We previously reported that Milan will cover Félix's full salary, with the total deal exceeding £5 million, including the loan fee. The player is currently in Italy, preparing for his medical examination.
This season, Félix has played just 12 Premier League matches for Chelsea, scoring once and providing one assist.
Reminder: Aston Villa had also shown interest in Félix earlier but opted to sign Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United yesterday.
