Jean Todt shares insights on his visits with Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher
Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher has remained out of the public eye for 12 years following the severe skiing accident he suffered in 2013. His close friend and former Ferrari team boss, Jean Todt, is one of the few people allowed to visit him, and he shared some details of these visits with La Repubblica.
Todt revealed that he remains in regular contact with Schumacher, with whom he has developed a deep friendship over the years. He also admitted that he frequently visits the German racer at his home.
"The family has decided not to answer the question (on his condition). A choice that I respect. I see him regularly and with affection, him and his family. Our bond goes beyond the past work," Todt said.
Their collaboration was immensely successful. During Todt’s tenure as Ferrari team principal, Schumacher won five of his seven Formula 1 world titles.
Previously, there were rumors that Michael attended his daughter Gina’s wedding in Mallorca last year. However, his close friend Johnny Herbert later denied these claims.
