January bombshell brewing! Juventus identify their top striker target amid Monaco fallout
Juventus are already preparing to strengthen their attack, and a surprising name has emerged as their leading candidate.
Details: According to Tuttosport, Monaco striker Folarin Balogun has become Juventus' priority target for the January transfer window. The Turin giants want to bring in another centre-forward to address their attacking problems. The 25-year-old American's relationship with Monaco has reportedly broken down, opening the door to a possible winter departure.
Balogun's agent, Jorge Mendes, could play a crucial role in the potential deal. The influential Portuguese representative enjoys an excellent relationship with Juventus and is reportedly prepared to offer his client to the Italian club.
However, Juventus are also considering alternatives. Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth remains on their radar, while Frosinone forward Antonio Raimondo, who belongs to Bologna, is another player admired by Luciano Spalletti. A January deal for Raimondo is considered particularly difficult.
Balogun came close to leaving Monaco last summer. Everton reportedly agreed a transfer worth approximately €48 million, but the American ultimately refused to complete the move following medical examinations.
It's worth noting that Balogun's contract with Monaco runs until the summer of 2028. The striker has also been left out of the club's squad for this season's UEFA Conference League.
