Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has revealed the player he "hated" during his playing days.

Details. Carragher admitted that he "hated" Manchester United legend Gary Neville during their years as fierce rivals throughout the 2000s. The pair were on opposing sides of one of football’s biggest rivalries but have since developed a close friendship while working together as pundits for Sky Sports.

Quote. "I kind of hated him. There was a big rivalry between our clubs, but he kissed his badge and said things about people from Liverpool. He was just playing up to the fanzines and trying to win favor with Manchester United fans.

Who really cares about Gary Neville, even if you’re a Manchester United fan? He’s a right-back. Nobody really cares about right-backs," Carragher said, as quoted by GiveMeSport.

Reminder. In 2006, Neville infamously ran across Old Trafford in front of Liverpool fans to celebrate United’s victory over their rivals. His demonstrative celebration led to a £10,000 fine.
