Iwobi makes Premier League history: Fulham star achieves incredible feat
Alex Iwobi has written his name into Premier League history. The Nigerian midfielder has become just the sixth player in the competition’s history to make at least 100 appearances for three different clubs.
The 30-year-old Iwobi started Fulham’s match against Crystal Palace and reached the landmark of 100 league appearances for the London club. He previously made 123 Premier League appearances for Everton and exactly 100 for Arsenal.
Iwobi has therefore joined an exclusive club that already includes Gareth Barry, James Milner, Rory Delap and the late Gary Speed. All of them also managed to make at least 100 Premier League appearances for three different clubs.
Iwobi joined Fulham from Everton as a free agent in 2023. Before that, he played for Arsenal, who sold him to Everton for €30.4 million in 2019.
Iwobi has now made 100 Premier League appearances for the Cottagers, scoring 18 goals and providing 11 assists. However, his landmark appearance ended in disappointment: Fulham twice took the lead but eventually lost 3-2 to Crystal Palace.
