Ivory Coast to face Cameroon in the third round of the Olympic qualifiers
The Elephants and the Indomitable Lionesses will go head-to-head in the race to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
The match is scheduled for the February–March 2027 international break. This clash between the two African women’s teams promises to be a thrilling encounter.
Ivory Coast thrashed the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the second round of the African Olympic qualifiers. The Elephants secured their place in the third round with an aggregate score of 7–1.
Although Ivory Coast’s run at the last Africa Cup of Nations, held in Morocco, came to an end in the quarter-finals, Reynald Pedros’s side are in impressive form.
However, the Elephants will face the African champions. The Indomitable Lionesses made history by winning the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations. Cameroon therefore remains a formidable opponent.
Valentine Nguele’s side did not play in the second round of these Olympic qualifiers. They qualified directly following Guinea’s withdrawal.
The first leg of the clash between the Elephants and the Indomitable Lionesses will be played in Cameroon, with the return leg in Ivory Coast.
