Ivory Coast Release Official Update on Sébastien Haller Injury Ahead of AFCON 2025
Ivory Coast have issued an official update regarding the injury status of star striker Sébastien Haller as preparations continue for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Haller suffered the injury over the weekend while on club duty with FC Utrecht, where he was forced to leave the pitch before the end of the match. The incident immediately raised concerns among Ivorian fans, given the striker’s importance to the national team.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Ivorian Football Federation confirmed that comprehensive medical examinations are still ongoing. As a precaution, Haller has been placed under medical observation and has not yet returned to full training.
The defending champions are scheduled to open their Africa Cup of Nations campaign on December 24 with a group-stage clash against Mozambique.
