Ivorian Ligue 1: Stella Club and Yamoussoukro FC share the points (1-1)

The two sides were unable to break the deadlock at the Ebimpé Olympic Stadium on Sunday 11 October, on Matchday 3 of the Ivorian professional league.

The match had, however, started well for Stella Club, who were playing at home. The home side took the lead early on. Diarra Assouba opened the scoring for Stella Club in the 16th minute, making it 1–0.

But Stella Club were unable to hold onto that lead before the end of the first half. Gbakagnan Jonathan equalised for Yamoussoukro FC in the 45th minute, making it 1–1.

The two teams went into the break level. In the second half, the tension continued. Despite their efforts, neither Stella Club nor Yamoussoukro FC managed to find the net again. The score therefore remained unchanged until the final whistle. The two sides thus drew 1–1 at the Ebimpé Olympic Stadium.

With this draw, Yamoussoukro FC’s run of form has come to a halt after securing two consecutive wins in their first two matches of the season. For their part, Stella Club have now recorded two draws and one defeat from their first three matches of the season.
