Ivorian Ligue 1: SOL and Yamoussoukro share the points
The two sides cancelled each other out on Sunday 18 October at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium on matchday 4 of the Ivorian professional league.
At the end of a hard-fought encounter, SOL FC and Amoussoukro FC shared the points, a result that cost the Rams top spot. The visitors struck just before half-time. In first-half stoppage time, Michel Asso opened the scoring in the 45th+3 minute, giving SOL FC the lead.
Having led for much of the match, the visitors eventually conceded in the second half. In the 72nd minute, Christian Akala found the back of the net to level the score and bring the game back to life.
Despite attempts from both sides in the closing minutes, neither team managed to break the deadlock. The score therefore remained 1–1 until the final whistle.
This draw has implications for the league table. Yamoussoukro FC, who were top of the table before the start of this fourth matchday, have slipped to second place. Meanwhile, SOL FC now sit in fifth place following this away result.
