Ivorian Ligue 1: SOA defeats ASEC Mimosas, Racing Club beats FC OSA
There were surprises and disappointments this 21 February in Ivorian stadiums.
Four matches were on the schedule for the kick-off of the Matchday 19 of the Ivorian professional football championship. The outcome of these matches was marked by the defeat of the leader, ASC Mimosas.
Away in Yamoussoukro, the Mimosas were beaten 2-1. The home side took control of the match in the first half. Yao Kouakou opened the scoring for SOA in the 14th minute before Magassa Mohamed doubled the lead in the 27th minute. The visitors reduced the deficit in the 58th minute thanks to Fofana.
Racing Club d'Abidjan dominated FC OSA, winning 3-2. Playing at home, Racing Club took the lead in the first minute of play thanks to Toure Allassane. But it wasn't until the second half that the goals started flowing. Toure Allassane doubled the home side's lead in the 52nd minute and Dosso Aboubacar scored the third goal. The visitors reacted at the end of the match by scoring two goals, but it was not enough to catch up with Racing Club. Final score: 3-2.
