Ivorian Ligue 1: ASEC Mimosas snatch a 1-1 draw against ISCA
The defending champions salvaged a point in the dying moments of the match, but are still struggling to return to their best form.
Away on Thursday 5 November, in a rescheduled fixture from Matchday 4 of the Ivorian Ligue 1, the Yellow and Blacks snatched a 1-1 draw thanks to a late equaliser.
Facing an enterprising ISCA side, ASEC Mimosas had a tough match. After a hard-fought, goalless first half, the home side quickly took the lead shortly after the break. Enoch Quaicoé found the back of the net in the 47th minute, putting his team ahead.
Trailing in the score, the reigning champions tried to fight back to avoid another disappointment. It was not until the 88th minute that Amany Armel levelled the score, securing a point for ASEC Mimosas.
After five league matches, the Abidjan-based club has recorded one win, three draws and one defeat. For their part, ISCA may have some regrets after holding onto their lead for so long. The club’s record stands at two draws, two defeats and one win since the start of the season.
