Ivorian Ligue 1: ASEC Mimosas draw with Stella Club

The defending champions of the Ivorian professional league will have to wait a little longer to secure their first win of the 2026–2027 season.

ASEC Mimosas are still struggling to find their rhythm in Ligue 1 this season. Following their 1-0 away defeat to Yamoussoukro FC in the opening match of the 2026–2027 season last weekend, the Mimos were held to a draw on Sunday 4 October on matchday 2 of the Ivorian league.

Playing at home against Stella Club at the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium, the reigning champions were unable to secure a win in front of their home crowd. They dominated the match but failed to make the difference over the 90 minutes.

The visitors held firm against the home side’s attacks right up until the final whistle. The match ended in a goalless draw in Abidjan.

Julien Chevalier’s side will therefore have to wait a little longer to secure their first win of the season, following a defeat and a draw.
