Ivan Juric leaves Southampton after Premier League relegation

In the final round of the English Premier League, Southampton fell to Tottenham with a score of 1-3 and became the first team to officially exit the top division. Now the club is left without a head coach.

Details: According to Sky Sports, Southampton's head coach Ivan Juric left his position immediately after the team's relegation. The Croatian specialist led the Saints for just 108 days and took advantage of a contract clause allowing him to terminate the agreement in case of the club's relegation from the Premier League.

Southampton has set a new negative record in the tournament. Previously, Ipswich (1994/95), Derby (2007/08), Huddersfield (2018/19), and Sheffield United (2020/21) were relegated six rounds before the finish.

Moreover, the Saints risk breaking another negative record held by Derby County, who earned only 11 points in the 2007/08 season. Southampton currently has 10 points, but there are still seven matches remaining.

Reminder: In the same round, Liverpool conceded three times in the first half of a Premier League match for the first time since October 2020 — then it was a 2-7 defeat to Aston Villa.
