‘It’s strange!’ Szczesny surprised that Barcelona youth don’t remember his Arsenal days

To join Barcelona, Wojciech Szczęsny had to come out of football retirement. Although the 34-year-old goalkeeper is still active, he’s finding that a generation has grown up unaware of many chapters of his career.
Details: Upon joining Barcelona, Szczęsny discovered that many young players, including Lamine Yamal, are too young to remember his debut for Arsenal since Yamal was only two years old in September 2009.
Quote: “I have to say, it’s strange! Some of these players probably haven’t seen me play for Arsenal, and to me, it doesn’t feel like that long ago! But that’s a key reason why I decided to come here because I believe I can contribute something to this team,” Szczęsny told Goal.
Reminder: Szczęsny has yet to debut for the Catalan club, as Iñaki Peña currently occupies the goal for Barcelona, though the Polish keeper isn’t overly concerned about this.
