It's settled! Manchester United star agrees contract with new club

The legendary Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is on the verge of a move to MLS.

Details: According to Ben Jacobs, the star defensive midfielder has virtually agreed on all verbal terms for his personal contract with Inter Miami. The main factor in the deal was the player's own desire—Casemiro is firmly set on his future and has chosen the Florida club, turning down offers from other suitors.

To join forces with the star-studded lineup in the American club, Casemiro has agreed to a clever financial arrangement in his contract. According to the agreement, in his first year in the USA, the Brazilian will not receive as massive a salary as he could have. This is due to Inter Miami currently having no available slots for Designated Players. However, the contract will include a non-guaranteed extension option, which could allow Casemiro to move onto a full, highly lucrative DP status in the future.

The only major obstacle left to finalize this blockbuster transfer lies in the bureaucratic rules of the American league. The MLS discovery rights for Casemiro are owned by LA Galaxy. The Californian club has already been informed that the player has chosen Miami, so now the clubs must agree on a financial compensation for the transfer of these rights. It is expected that both sides will resolve this issue quickly, and the compensation will not be a serious hurdle to completing the deal.

It’s worth noting that this season, the Brazilian has played 35 matches for the English club, scoring 9 goals and providing 2 assists. Transfermarkt values the player at €8 million.

Reminder: Manchester United have set their sights on Borussia Dortmund defender Julian Ryerson.
