Forget Joshua: Tyson Fury has announced the fight boxing actually circled, a third dance with Oleksandr Usyk is officially in the pipeline.

Details: Fury posted a promo image of himself and Usyk on Instagram, writing: the trilogy is in the pipeline, time to get it back, the last dance between warriors, coming soon. The announcement caps a day of crossfire between the two camps, with Usyk taunting Fury about still thinking about him and the Gypsy King replying that he is sick to death of cowards.

The path here was pure Fury chaos. First he declared the long-awaited Anthony Joshua showdown off, branding his rival weak-minded in an expletive-laden video, then pivoted straight to the man who beat him twice on points in 2024. Usyk, 39, vacated his three heavyweight world titles in June saying he wanted one last dance before retirement, and while his camp initially insisted he would be nobody's back-up plan, Fury's latest post suggests terms are now falling into place, with November the target. For the 38 year old Briton, this is about legacy: 0-2 against the Ukrainian, and one final chance to rewrite the ending of the defining rivalry of the heavyweight era.

It's worth noting that Fury had already announced a Wembley trilogy date for April that never materialized, but this time both fighters are publicly engaging, a sign the deal is real.

Reminder: Cherif Ndiaye announces his retirement from international football.
