Brentford have pulled off a transfer coup even before the window officially opens.
Details: Earlier today, Brentford announced on their official X (formerly Twitter) page that they've reached an agreement with Austria's Salzburg for the transfer of 19-year-old defender Jannik Schuster.
Reports confirm that negotiations are complete, all signatures are in place, and Schuster will join Brentford at the end of the season for €18 million. The contract between Brentford and Schuster runs until 2031, with an option to extend for an additional year.
Jannik Schuster joined Salzburg in the summer of 2025 from Liefering for €600,000. This season, Schuster has made 31 appearances for Salzburg, scoring once and providing one assist. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is currently estimated at €3.5 million.
