"It's not the same as winning in the ring," Hearn does not consider Dubois a true world champion
Promoter Eddie Hearn, representing Anthony Joshua, has shared his views on Daniel Dubois and does not consider him a genuine world champion.
Details: In a comment for The Stomping Ground, the Brit expressed his dissatisfaction with elevating fighters from interim to full champions.
Quote: "When people are promoted from interim to full champion. If the IBF title had become vacant and Dubois had faced Hrgović, I would have said, 'Yes.' But since the title was not vacant when they fought for it, I consider it a vacant title," Hearn stated.
He added that if Dubois defeats Joshua in their bout, he will be a 100% world champion, as defeating Hrgović as an interim champion and becoming a full champion is not the same as winning in the ring.
Reminder: Daniel Dubois, the IBF heavyweight titleholder, demands respect for his victory over Filip Hrgović in the fight for the interim IBF title, which he believes makes him a deserving champion.
