Marco Silva Provides Injury Update on Alex Iwobi After Brentford Draw
Fulham manager Marco Silva has provided an initial update on Alex Iwobi after the midfielder was forced off during their 0–0 draw with Brentford.
Iwobi picked up a suspected hamstring injury in the 43rd minute and was unable to continue, with Samuel Chukwueze coming on as his replacement.
Speaking after the match, Silva indicated that the early signs are somewhat encouraging, though he stressed that further tests will be needed to confirm the severity of the injury. He also admitted that Iwobi’s absence was a significant blow during the game.
“First reaction I got from Alex – it’s not so bad, but in the next 24-48 hours, we will be more clear about it. A big impact when we lost him,” Silva said.
