On July 20, an intriguing boxing match awaits us at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, where the legendary Mike Tyson will face off against Jake Paul, whom he hasn't boxed since 2020.

Recall that we previously reported that the fight might not take place if Mike Tyson does not pass an unusual test.

The return of the 57-year-old athlete to the ring has been widely criticized by both fans and critics in the combat sports world.

Former world champion in various weight classes and current world champion in the super middleweight division, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, also expressed his opinion. He stated that he is not a fan of the upcoming fight and declared his lack of interest in it.

This came after he responded to "Iron" Mike, accusing the legendary athlete of disrespecting Mexican boxing. When asked if he was interested in this fight, he replied:

"Not at all. Considering Netflix's involvement, it's certainly good. But I am not [interested] in such a fight. I think it's more of a show than a real fight."

Alvarez also had a falling out with Paul, who called him out after defeating Ryan Burland earlier this month. Speaking after his victory, Paul said:

"Canelo, stop ducking. I know you want this. I represent Puerto Rico. You represent Mexico.

So, it's Puerto Rico vs. Mexico. I want this, Canelo. I want all the biggest names. As I said before, I am the face of this sport. Truly, who does more for boxing than me? It's time."

Canelo's next fight is scheduled, where he will defend his championship titles against his fellow countryman from Mexico, Jaime Munguia, on May 4.
