In Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League group stage matchday four, Romeo Lavia lasted only five minutes before picking up another injury. The Blues’ head coach addressed the situation.

Details: Speaking at the press conference ahead of the next fixture, Enzo Maresca admitted that it’s simply awful and that the team feels deeply sorry for Lavia, who is sidelined once again. The club, he said, is doing everything possible to prevent such setbacks, yet the midfielder keeps getting injured.

Quote: “It’s just awful. It’s really unfortunate because we’ve been trying to limit his playing time and protect him as much as we can. But even under those conditions, he’s injured again. We need to find the right solution for him, and for now, we’ll stick with our current approach,” Maresca commented.

On Saturday, November 8, Chelsea will host Wolverhampton at Stamford Bridge. Kick-off is scheduled for 21:00 CET.

Reminder: Chelsea’s head coach recently fielded the second-youngest starting lineup ever used by an English club in an away UEFA Champions League match.
