Valencia's center-back, Mouctar Diakhaby, who suffered a severe injury in the match against Real Madrid (2-2), has successfully undergone surgery, as reported by the club's official account on X.

The Guinean footballer recorded a message from the hospital, where he can be seen smiling and in good spirits.

Earlier, medical experts speculated that due to the rupture of several knee ligaments and the displacement of the patella, Diakhaby might never play football again.

To recall, Diakhaby suffered a serious knee injury following a collision with Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. According to initial estimates, he is expected to be sidelined for 9 to 12 months.

The 27-year-old player joined Valencia from Lyon in the summer of 2018. In the current La Liga season, he has played 14 matches and scored 1 goal.
