“It’s a Dream Start” — Ademola Lookman Delighted After Scoring Debut Goal for Atletico Madrid

Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman could not hide his excitement after scoring his first goal for Atletico Madrid, describing the moment as “a dream start” following Thursday night’s emphatic Copa del Rey win over Real Betis.

The Nigerian international, who joined the Spanish side from Atalanta during the January transfer window, made an instant statement in his debut appearance. Lookman was on target as Atletico Madrid stormed to a convincing 5–0 victory in the quarter-finals, calmly netting the third goal to cap off a dominant performance from Diego Simeone’s men.

After the match, the former African Footballer of the Year winner expressed his joy at getting off the mark so quickly and praised the welcoming atmosphere within the club.

“I’m very happy. Everyone has been great with me. It’s a dream start.” “That happiness makes me wanna work hard and perform for this amazing club.”

“Very proud, very happy for my debut, especially for the performance of the team. The team, everyone in the dressing room welcomed me in a very affectionate way,” said Lookman after the game.
