Nearly five years have passed since Victor Osimhen’s transfer from Lille to Napoli, yet the Partenopei are still facing legal issues related to the deal.

Details: According to Marca, the Rome prosecutor's office has requested that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis be held accountable for the transfer. Authorities suspect financial fraud took place.

The alleged accounting fraud is believed to have occurred in the 2019, 2020, and 2021 financial years. Along with De Laurentiis, prosecutors have also requested legal action against Napoli as a company and Andrea Chiavelli, the president’s right-hand man. The signing of Greek defender Kostas Manolas from Roma is also under investigation, though the Osimhen deal remains the primary focus.

Reminder: Osimhen is currently close to leaving Napoli, with several clubs reportedly interested in signing him.
