Another weekend is upon us, and it won't pass without the excitement of a Formula 1 Grand Prix. From Friday to Sunday, August 30 to September 1, the race will take place in Italy.
Italian Grand Prix 2024: what to know about the tournament?
The first Italian Grand Prix was held on September 4, 1921, in the city of Brescia. However, after the Monza circuit was built in 1922, the Grand Prix moved there permanently.
In 1950, when the inaugural season of Formula 1 began, it was at the Italian Grand Prix, the final stage of the championship, where the first-ever Formula 1 World Champion was crowned. Since then, the Italian Grand Prix has been a fixture in every Formula 1 season.
The 2024 Italian Grand Prix marks the 16th round of the World Championship, the 94th Italian Grand Prix in history, and the 75th within the framework of the Formula 1 World Championship.
The reigning winner is Dutch driver Max Verstappen from the Red Bull team. The most victories belong to Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton.
