In the shortlist for the Manchester United head coach position, in the event of Erik ten Hag's dismissal, an unexpected name has emerged.

As reported by Football Insider, the new candidate is Ipswich Town's head coach, Kieran McKenna. The reason being that McKenna had previously worked at Manchester United as an assistant to both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In the current season, Ipswich Town, which only recently rose in class based on last season's performance, has become the Championship's main sensation. The modest club is leading the league table with 6 rounds remaining in the season, having amassed 87 points.

Additionally, as reported by Metro, the current head coach of the German national team, Julian Nagelsmann, has also entered the shortlist for Manchester United.

The leadership of the "Red Devils" is discontented with the team's current results under Erik ten Hag's guidance. In the Premier League, Manchester United occupies sixth place, trailing the fifth position by 9 points. However, Manchester United has today's match against Chelsea to make up ground.

In the Champions League, Manchester United finished at the bottom of their group, which included Bayern Munich, Copenhagen, and Galatasaray.
