It wasn't Aston Villa's day. Unai Emery repeated a failure from nearly 12 years ago

Aston Villa suffered a crushing defeat at home to Tottenham in the 28th round of the English Premier League, losing 4:0.

This loss was extremely painful not only for Aston Villa, which is in a battle with Tottenham for the fourth spot, but also personally for their head coach, Unai Emery.

The Spaniard equaled his largest defeat as a coach at home. Today's 0:4 result matches his 1:5 defeat against Moscow's Dynamo in the Russian Premier League back in November 2012 (when he was in charge of Spartak Moscow).

Emery has been in charge of Aston Villa since October 2022. Last season, Villa finished in seventh place, qualifying for the Conference League.
