42-year-old former hockey player from Belarus, Konstantin Koltsov, who was the boyfriend of the world's second-ranked tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka, passed away in Miami, USA.

The Daily Mail publication reveals details of how the former athlete ended his life. It is claimed that Koltsov took his own life. The Miami police confirmed that the man jumped from the balcony of a five-star hotel where he was staying at the time.

Reports from Belarus initially claimed that Koltsov, who had been in a relationship with 25-year-old Australian Open champion Sabalenka for three years, died from a "detached thrombus" before Florida police discovered he "jumped from the balcony" of the five-star resort. Miami authorities have classified the investigation as an "apparent suicide."

The Belarusian hockey player's career spanned from 1997 to 2015.

Earlier, the media reported that Koltsov was expected to be appointed head coach of Dynamo Minsk and the Belarusian national team instead of Russian Dmitry Kvartalnov, who holds both positions.
