"It was something special": Guardiola recalled his time working with Messi

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola reflected on his time working with Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

Quote: "I was very lucky with something in my career — I had Leo Messi in my team. He was with me for three years, and it was just something special," Fabrizio Romano quoted the coach as saying.

Guardiola and Messi worked together at Barcelona from 2008 to 2012. During that time, the coach and player won every possible team and individual title.

Reminder: Manchester City continues to struggle under Guardiola's leadership. The "Citizens" crashed out of the UEFA Champions League after losing to Real Madrid in the early playoff stage.

In the Premier League, Man City sits in fourth place. On Sunday, February 23, Guardiola's team will face Liverpool, with kickoff set for 17:30 Central European Time.

Earlier, Pep shared whether he wants to continue working at Manchester City in the future.
