Cole Palmer shared a hilarious story involving Estevao—a young Brazilian talent who will soon become his teammate at Chelsea.

After the FIFA Club World Cup match between Chelsea and Palmeiras, in which the Londoners clinched a 2-1 victory, the Englishman approached Estevao to greet him and express his excitement about the youngster’s future move. However, the language barrier quickly became apparent.

I just told him we’re happy he’s joining us, but he didn’t understand a single word, Palmer told Goal with a laugh.

For the record, the 18-year-old Estevao has already made his mark, scoring 27 goals and providing 15 assists in 83 appearances for Palmeiras. He has also debuted for Brazil’s senior national team. After the Club World Cup, the young star will officially join Chelsea.
