Today, Germany’s Alexander Zverev defeated American Tommy Paul in four sets to advance to the semifinals of the Australian Open. However, a peculiar incident occurred during the match.

Details: During the second set, as Paul attempted to convert a break point, a seagull feather fell onto the court.

The chair umpire deemed the feather a disruption to play and ordered the point to be replayed, much to Zverev’s frustration:

"What? A feather? There are millions of them on the court," Zverev said to the umpire.

Despite the unusual interruption, Zverev went on to win the second set and took a 2-0 lead in the match.

Reminder: Earlier today, the first pair of women’s singles semifinalists at the Australian Open was determined.
