“It Just Wouldn’t Happen for Other Tournaments” – Ashleigh Plumptre Slams CAF Over WAFCON Postponement

Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has voiced her frustration at the Confederation of African Football following the postponement of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

CAF announced on Thursday that the tournament has been rescheduled to run from July 25 to August 16, citing the need to give both the continental body and the host nation additional time to prepare for a better-organized competition.

In a video interview shared by BBC Match of the Day, the Al-Ittihad defender expressed disappointment with both the decision and the timing of the announcement.
