Earlier, we reported that the transfer of Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny to Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr was somewhat complicated. Now we know what is preventing the transfer.
The green light for the transfer should have been given by the Saudi investment fund, which was supposed to pay for the transfer, but according to Polish journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk, this did not happen, which put all negotiations on pause:
"When this news appeared in the public space, one thing was not outlined: how the biggest clubs in Saudi Arabia function. They have their own transfer policy, but that big money belongs to the state-owned Public Investment Fund, which promotes the country.
Al Nassr had his eye on Szczęsny, they had already agreed on the transfer fee and the player's salary, which was supposed to be over €20 million. However, they had to wait for the green light from the Saudi Arabian fund and government, and it didn't come for a long time. Recently, the Saudis have informed that as of now they cannot accept this transfer," Włodarczyk said on Meczyki's YouTube channel.
