Soon, on Friday, January 12, the AFC Asian Cup kicks off in Qatar.

Ticket sales for the tournament matches began a few days ago. According to Hassan Rabea Al Kuwari, the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for the local organizing committee, almost 900,000 tickets have been sold so far. He added that six thousand volunteers from 107 countries are working to make this tournament unforgettable.

"We will leverage the significant legacy of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, making the AFC Asian Cup a globally significant event (similar to the World Cup)," confirmed Al Kuwari during a press conference.

By the way, in the first match of the AFC Asian Cup, Qatar will play against Lebanon at the Lusail Stadium. The tournament will take place from 12 January to 10 February. The current title holder is the current host of the tournament, the Qatar national team.
