It has been revealed who will replace Leon at the Club World Cup

The Mexican club Leon will not be able to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup. The Mexican club was excluded from the tournament due to a FIFA regulation prohibiting clubs with the same owner from competing.
The current spot from the "Pachuca Group" at the Club World Cup was taken by Pachuca, leaving Leon in need of an urgent replacement.
Details. World Soccer Talk reports that Costa Rican club Alajuelense will replace the Mexican Leon at the Club World Cup. It is currently the top-ranked Central American team in the CONCACAF rankings.
It is noted that Alajuelense will play in the same group as Chelsea in the tournament, which will be held in the USA.
Reminder. The "Pachuca Group" faced issues due to FIFA's regulation against multi-club ownership in competitions. The organization requires that qualified clubs operate independently, which the group's management failed to prove.
Representatives of Leon and Pachuca held meetings with FIFA to confirm the independence of their institutions but could not convince the organization.
Earlier, it was reported that the owner of Alajuelense is ready to sue FIFA for a spot in the Club World Cup.
