Real Madrid continues to monitor Bayern Munich and Canadian national team defender Alphonso Davies. The Spanish club is ready to sign the player right now, but they are deterred by the price tag set by the German team.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich is looking to fetch around €60-70 million for their player. However, in the Spanish capital, they prefer to defer the signing of Davies until next summer. The defender's contract, which expires at the end of the following season, is the reason behind this decision.

If the Canadian footballer and Bayern Munich fail to reach a new agreement, he will be able to move to another team as a free agent. This means that Real Madrid, or any other club that negotiates with Davies, could save a significant amount of money.

Alphonso Davies has been playing for Bayern Munich since 2018 when he transferred from the Vancouver Whitecaps for €14 million. Currently, the 23-year-old defender has amassed 189 appearances for the German club, scoring nine goals and providing 29 assists.
