Ismaël Doukouré set to turn his back on France to join the Ivory Coast!

The Strasbourg defender is said to be on the verge of making a definitive decision regarding his international career.

Ismaël Doukouré is reported to have begun the administrative procedures required to represent the Ivory Coast on the international stage. The 23-year-old is said to have obtained his Ivorian passport after submitting all the required documents, according to Ivorian sources.

His change of sporting nationality could therefore be just a matter of time. Ismaël Doukouré, who has played for various age-group teams representing France, could now be set to join the Elephants.

This development comes as the Ivorian national team faces the absence of Guéla Doué for the first two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Strasbourg defender could therefore provide a solution to cover for Guéla Doué’s absence against Ghana, Somalia and Cameroon during the international break.
