Ismaël Doukoure is reported to have chosen Ivory Coast for his international career

Born in France, the defender is said to have agreed to play for the Ivorian national team.

The news has not yet been made official. However, sources claim that Ismaël Doukoure wants to join the Elephants following a discussion between his father and the Ivory Coast manager, Emerse Fae. The defender, who currently plays for Strasbourg, is reportedly preparing to begin the administrative process to obtain his Ivorian passport.

According to the same sources, Ismaël Doukoure is expected to feature on the Ivorian national team manager’s next squad list. It is also not out of the question that he could take part in the World Cup with the Elephants this summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
