Ismaël Bennacer makes a fresh start in Qatar
The Algerian international has joined Al-Gharafa of the Qatar Stars League.
A free agent since leaving AC Milan this summer, Ismaël Bennacer has found a new home. The 28-year-old Algerian midfielder has chosen the Qatari league to relaunch his career.
The 2019 African champion has officially joined Al-Gharafa as a free agent. The Qatari club announced the signing of Ismaël Bennacer without, however, disclosing the terms of his transfer.
The Algerian midfielder’s career has been hampered by injuries in recent seasons at AC Milan. Bennacer has not played a competitive match for the Italian club since 2025, having joined the Rossoneri in 2019 from Empoli.
The Algerian international has been on a series of loan spells, notably at Marseille and Dinamo Zagreb. These fitness issues ruled him out of the last FIFA World Cup with Algeria.
By joining Al-Gharafa, Ismaël Bennacer hopes to regain his best form and, ideally, relaunch his career.
