Is this the end? Not a single Portugal player has backed Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has found himself in an uncomfortable position amid his ongoing conflict with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus.
Details: According to Spanish radio station COPE, not a single member of the Portugal national team has liked or commented on Ronaldo's lengthy Instagram statement addressing his dispute with Jorge Jesus. The post attracted enormous attention on social media, but none of his international teammates have publicly endorsed his version of events.
In his statement, the 41-year-old forward accused Jesus of breaking promises made during private conversations. Ronaldo claimed the coach had initially agreed to give him playing time against Norway but ultimately left him on the bench despite sending him to warm up.
The disagreement eventually prompted Ronaldo to leave Portugal's training camp. The striker subsequently acknowledged that his departure was a mistake and apologized to supporters and teammates, while insisting that his accusations against Jesus were justified.
The reported lack of Instagram reactions has fueled speculation about the atmosphere within the squad. However, the absence of likes does not necessarily mean that the players oppose their captain. Bruno Fernandes had previously rejected suggestions of a dressing-room split, emphasizing Ronaldo's importance to Portuguese football.
It is worth noting that Ronaldo remains the all-time leading scorer in men's international football, having scored 146 goals in 234 appearances for Portugal.
Reminder: I have nothing more to say! Jorge Jesus responds to Cristiano Ronaldo's statements
