Is this really a football score? The women's teams from Zambia and Australia delivered a wild match


On July 28, 2024, the second round match of the women's football tournament at the Olympics featured an incredible clash between Australia and Zambia.
The teams combined for a staggering 11 goals in a thrilling match, with the winner only being determined in the 90th minute. Australia, trailing 2-5 during the second half, managed a remarkable comeback, scoring 4 more goals and clinching a 6-5 victory.
Another highlight of the match was Barbara Banda's hat-trick. The Zambian player scored three times in the first half, marking her third Olympic hat-trick. Banda previously scored three goals in matches during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. No other player in the history of women's football has achieved such a feat.
In addition to her three goals, Banda also recorded an assist. Currently, she is the top scorer of the tournament.
