Is the transfer getting closer? Amorim comments on Rashford's latest absence from the squad
Manchester United head coach Rúben Amorim has commented on another absence of Marcus Rashford from the matchday squad. The English forward watched from the stands as the "Red Devils" suffered a 1-3 defeat to Brighton.
Quote. "No matter what, I won’t play someone I don’t believe is the best option for the team. Marcus is currently out because he’s not playing," Amorim told Fabrizio Romano.
Context. Rashford is keen on changing clubs this winter, but it’s not straightforward. He prefers a move to Milan or Barcelona. However, the Catalan club cannot finalize the deal unless they free up a spot in their squad.
Milan, according to Sky Germany, is close to reaching an agreement with Kyle Walker. The potential transfer of the Manchester City defender could completely rule out Rashford's move to the Italian club.
