Is Şahin's dismissal near? Borussia Dortmund loses third consecutive match

In Bundesliga round 18, Borussia Dortmund traveled to face Eintracht Frankfurt. Rumors of the "Bees" coach's dismissal had been intensifying ahead of the match, and this result certainly didn’t help his case.

Details: Dortmund conceded early, with Hugo Ekitike scoring in the 18th minute to put Frankfurt ahead. Despite attempts to equalize, Dortmund struggled to create meaningful chances. Eintracht sealed the game with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+2 minute.

As a result, Borussia suffers their third straight loss. Dortmund has yet to win in 2025 and has lost three of their last six matches. They now risk dropping to 11th place in the table, as Gladbach has a game in hand and trails by just one point.

Following this defeat, speculation about head coach Nuri Şahin’s dismissal is bound to intensify.

Reminder: Erik ten Hag has been linked as a shadow candidate for the Dortmund job. He was spotted in the stands during one of Dortmund’s recent matches.
