The International Olympic Committee has barred Russian freestyle wrestler Abdulrashid Sadulaev from the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Sadulaev was denied entry due to his support for Russia's military intervention in Ukraine, as well as his affiliation with the Dynamo structure.

Sadulaev is a two-time Olympic champion, having won gold at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In Brazil, he competed in the 86 kg weight category, while in Japan, he competed in the 97 kg weight category.

The 27-year-old athlete will not participate in the Olympic qualifying tournament scheduled for April 5-7 in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

Earlier, Ukraine submitted a list of Russian athletes supporting military actions to the IOC, including Sadulaev.
