The French Alps and Salt Lake City have been invited to engage in a dialogue regarding their respective bids to host the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2030 and 2034, as announced on the IOC website.

The Executive Committee has extended invitations to the National Olympic Committee of France and the Olympic and Paralympic Committee of the United States. This purposeful dialogue aims to explore the possibility of hosting the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in the French Alps in 2030 and in Salt Lake City in 2034.

The principle of potential dual assignment for the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2030 and 2034 was approved at the 141st IOC Session in Mumbai, India, in October. This decision was made with the full support of the President of the International Olympic Winter Sports Federation to ensure the safety of hosting the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in climatically secure regions.

It's worth noting that the Winter Olympic Games in 2026 are scheduled to take place in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from February 6 to 22, with the Paralympic Games occurring in the same cities from March 6 to 15.
