Former Inter and Porto player Mehdi Taremi has found himself cast in the role of a spy.

Details: According to Real Inter News, Iran national team forward Mehdi Taremi, who currently plays for Greek side Olympiacos, allegedly passed highly sensitive intelligence to American agencies.

Preliminary reports indicate that the intelligence shared included the exact coordinates of Iran's top leadership. It is claimed that this information enabled US forces to carry out targeted strikes on Tehran and government facilities.

So far, neither the player’s representatives nor US officials have offered any detailed comments.

It's worth noting that Taremi is highly regarded in Iran, having earned exactly 100 caps for the national team and scored 54 goals.

Recall: Inter have set their sights on Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.
