Inter Milan is reportedly aiming to sign Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret as a free agent.
Details: According to Football Italia, the Nerazzurri are ready to make a move for Meret if he does not agree to a new contract with Napoli.
The goalkeeper’s current deal at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona runs until June 2025, but negotiations over an extension have stalled. Talks have made little progress, and it is now believed that Inter is waiting behind the scenes with its own proposal.
Inter is seeking a long-term replacement for their current goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who turns 36 next month.
Reminder: Napoli signed Meret from Udinese in 2019 for €26 million after an initial loan spell. The Italian goalkeeper has also attracted interest from Arsenal.
