Inter hosted Atalanta at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium in a rescheduled match of the 21st round of Serie A.

Both teams were determined to secure a victory today - the Nerazzurri aimed to extend their remarkable winning streak, while the Bergamaschi were battling for a spot in the Champions League, with every point being crucial for them.

However, despite the anticipation of a competitive encounter, today's match didn't live up to expectations. While Atalanta managed to find the back of the net early on through De Ketelaere, the goal was disallowed due to a handball.

From the middle of the first half, it was all about Inter. Darmian broke the deadlock with a powerful strike in the 26th minute, and before the halftime whistle, the hosts doubled their lead. Lautaro Martinez beautifully curled one into the net from outside the box.

In the second half, Atalanta faced an almost insurmountable task: to overcome a two-goal deficit against such a formidable Inter side. However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed just 10 minutes into the half.

The Nerazzurri were awarded a penalty, which Martinez failed to convert against Carnesecchi, but Dimarco was on hand to slot home the rebound. Frattesi then sealed Atalanta's fate by converting a delivery from Sanchez.

Thus, Inter extended their winning streak across all competitions to 11 matches. Simone Inzaghi's side now sits 12 points ahead of Juventus and is poised to celebrate winning the Scudetto ahead of schedule. Atalanta remains in fifth place, trailing fourth-placed Bologna by two points.
