Inter Miami are MLS champions and will open the 2025 Club World Cup in Miami

Today marked the conclusion of the regular MLS season, with Inter Miami's earlier confirmed championship victory and their place in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup already sealed. At the MLS Champions Award Ceremony, FIFA President Gianni Infantino was present to officially announce that the opening match of the 2025 tournament will take place at Inter Miami’s home ground.

Details: Tonight, all MLS teams played their final matches of the season. Inter Miami clinched the title ahead of schedule and secured their spot in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup as the champions of the host nation.

Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, attended the award ceremony and congratulated Inter Miami on their triumph. He also confirmed the team's participation in the Club World Cup, adding that the opening match of the tournament will be held at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.

Reminder: The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will take place from June 15 to July 13, featuring a new expanded format with 32 teams from various confederations. Inter Miami is the 31st team to qualify, with the final spot reserved for the winner of the 2024 Copa Libertadores.
